TaeguTec chipbreaker inserts for heavy machining

Designed with a strong cutting edge and rigid geometry has resulted in stable chip evacuation and a long tool life. With an ability to machine up to 20 mm deep cuts at a feed rate of 1.5 mm/rev, the HZ can operate at a cutting speed of 100 m/min on alloyed steels. The HZ range of inserts is available in TaeguTec's TT8115 and TT8125 grades with a number of alternate grades available upon quotation. The HZ insert range is an extension of the already established HT and HY heavy machining inserts. However, the HZ has projections on the upper side of the insert to further improve chip removal. This new geometry minimises heat generated at the cutting edge, during heavy machining. This range of insert grades will enable the end user to conduct heavy turning of a variety of alloyed steels and cast irons, that are commonplace in heavy industrial applications such as the wind turbine, power generation and shipbuilding industries.
