Inserts for low carbon steel

Designed to increase productivity, chip evacuation and tool life in heavy duty cutting applications, the new HY Chipbreakers has very strong edge geometry with negative rake angle that delivers stable cutting conditions for heavy machining operations. As a new development, the HY follows on from its predecessor, the HT insert. While the HT is capable of machining up to 12 mm depth of cut at a feed rate of 1.2 mm/rev, the new HY goes beyond this capability to deliver improved feeds and speeds. The HY insert is capable of machining at a cutting depth of 15 mm at a feed rate of 1.4 mm/rev. The HY insert range is available in SNMM and CNMM configurations, with TaeguTec's TT8115 and TT8125 grades.
