Nexus 8000 from Bowers, a hard act to follow
Bowers Group has launched a range of heavy duty, universal hardness testers with 6-position turrets. The Nexus 8000 series can be used for all Rockwell, superficial Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers and Knoop hardness procedures. In addition, the bench-mounted testers are able to perform ball and indentation hardness testing on materials such as thermoplastics, and can undertake Vickers depth (HVT) and Brinell depth (HBT) operations.
The Nexus 8000 covers hardness testing test forces from 9.8 N to 29 kN. It is said to be equally at home in laboratory situations for sample testing, or on the shop floor for use on flat or cylindrical workpieces such as castings and forgings.
