ITC’s 2172 Cyber series boosts aluminium machining

Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has extended its line of aluminium milling tools with the introduction of the 2172 Cyber series of two-flute ballnose end-mills. The solid carbide line is manufactured from a wear resistant micro-grain carbide to minimise edge wear and chipping.

ITC has created the 2172 series based upon continuous testing and feasibility studies with OEMs in the aerospace and motorsport industries. The result is a straight shank, right-hand helix and centre cutting range complete with newly developed flute geometry that the company says is designed to excel in swarf evacuation. The line is available in diameters of 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm with matching shank diameters. The overall length of the end-mills ranges from 40 to 100 mm depending upon the chosen diameter, with length of cut varying from 12 to 40 mm.
