ITC introduces 3091 Cyber Series long-reach short-flute length aluminium cutters

Industrial Tooling Corporation 3091 Cyber series three flute, long shank, end mills, developed for aluminium and other non-ferrous materials, provide greater reach for machining cavities and difficult to access surfaces.

The 3091 series features a straight shank, right hand helix with centre cutting and a short flute length. ITC says the flute geometry has been extensively tested to prove its ability to provide good swarf clearance and surface finish. The ultra wear resistant micro grain carbide used in the manufacture combines with the short flute length to provide a rigidity that further enhances surface finishes. Centre cutting with three end teeth also offers plunging and ramping capabilities. The 3091 Cyber series is available with either a square end geometry or with a corner radius for prolonged tool life and to provide profile and cavity machining capabilities. The square end line is available in 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm diameters with a 6 mm shank diameter. Larger diameters, which include 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm, have matching shanks for increased rigidity. The 3, 4 and 5 mm cutters have an overall length of 75 mm, while the 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm offer an overall length of 100 mm and the remaining 16 and 20 mm diameters have a length of 150 mm. Length of cut ranges from 4.5 to 30 mm with a reach of 12 to 65 mm depending upon the diameter selected. Corner radius end mills are available in the same dimensions as the square end series. The 3, 4 and 5 mm diameter cutters offer a corner radius of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 mm, while the 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm cutters offer these radii as well as 1.5 and 2 mm radii. The 16 and 20 mm cutters are suitable for profile machining with corner radius options of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4 and 5 mm.
