ITC innovative flute geometry long series aluminium end mills eliminate vibration

The 2201 series of two-flute long length end mills from ITC have been developed for highly productive machining of aluminium and non-ferrous components. Radical flute geometries enable the cutters to eliminate vibration and chatter while machining at depths up to 60 mm at high feedrates. This is coupled, says ITC, with remarkable swarf clearance and impeccable surface finishes when machining at high feed rates on deep cavities and difficult to reach surfaces and profiles.

The ITC 2201 straight shank series is a centre cutting, right hand helix range and is manufactured from an ultra-wear-resistant micrograin carbide. Diameters include 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm with an identical shank diameter on cutters from 8 mm upwards for enhanced rigidity. The 3 to 5 mm cutters have an overall length of 75 mm while the 6 to 12 mm cutters are 100 mm long and the 16 and 20 mm cutters are 150 mm long. The range offers a cutting length from 15 to 60 mm. The series is available either as a square end cutter or with a radius to eliminate the possibility of edge chipping. The 3 to 6 mm cutters are available with a 0.5 and 1 mm radius while all other cutters in the range have a choice of radii from 0.5 to 2 mm in 0.5 mm increments.
