ITC Cyber 2161 and Radius 2161 cutters make light work of aluminium and non-ferrous metals

ITC's 2161 Cyber and Radius series of two flute end mills for aluminium are manufactured from ultra wear resistant micro grain carbide and designed to offer exceptionally high performance machining on aluminium and non-ferrous materials. The centre cutting straight shank tools have a right-hand helix that delivers outstanding performance, says ITC. These attributes combine with a radical new flute geometry that evacuates swarf from the work envelope. This prolongs the already long tool life and assists the 2161 Series in achieving its high quality surface finishes.

ITC flute geometry enables the 2161 series to perform at astounding speed and feedrates, claims ITC. The square end 2161 Cyber series is available in 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm diameters with identical shank sizes. The overall length of the series ranges from 40 to 100 mm with a length of cut for the 3 and 20 mm cutters being 20 and 40 mm respectively, with all additional cutters in the series having a proportionate and optimal flute length. The 2161 Cyber series with Radius is available in 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 mm diameters, with each cutter in the series offering the option of 0.5, 0.75 and 1 mm corner radius. With the exception of the 14 and 18 mm cutters, all cutters from 6 mm upwards are also offered with 1.5 and 2.0 mm radius. Cutters from 8 mm upward have the option of a 3 mm radius while the 16 and 20 mm cutters can be supplied with a 4 mm radius.
