ITC extends long reach cutter series

ITC has launched its 2121 Cyber Series of extra long shank cutting tools for the machining of deep cavities and difficult to reach surfaces. The new two flute square end XXLS Series has an overall cutter length of up to 200 mm.

Manufactured from ultra-wear-resistant micro grain carbide, the 2121 Series offers exceptional rigidity for a cutter of its length. The two flute solid carbide series has a straight shank and a 30° helix that contributes to an impressive rigidity that promotes excellent surface finishes. Capable of machining a wide variety of materials that include most steels, cast irons, aluminium alloys and additional difficult to machine materials, the 2121 Series is ideal for machining cavities in the mould and die, aerospace, medical, automotive and motorsport industries. This new series of flexible cutting tools is available in 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm diameters with shank diameters identical to the cutting diameter to further enhance rigidity and improve surface finishes. The cutters have an optimal flute length of 38, 40, 50 and 75 mm for the 12, 16 and 20 mm cutters to further improve tool life and productivity when machining deep cavities. The 6 and 8 mm cutters are produced with an overall length of 150 mm with all cutters from 10 mm and above having an overall length of 200 mm. ITC's world class CNC grinding facility in Tamworth can offer its customers the option of modifying the tools to exact specifications. Alternately, ITC can produce special cutters complete to meet end-users deep cavity machining needs.
