ITC 2172 Cyber Series ball nosed end mills for aluminium

Collaboration with aerospace and motorsport manufacturers has given birth to ITC's 2172 Cyber Series ballnose endmills for machining aluminium. The tooling manufacturer describes feeds and speeds possible as 'astounding'.

The ITC 2172 ultra wear resistant micro grain carbide ballnose endmills have a right-hand helix. This is combined with a radical flute geometry for fast swarf evacuation which both prolongs tool life and promotes high quality surface finishes. ITC says the endmills give impressive results machining cavities and 5-axis complex forms. The 2172 Cyber Series is available in 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm diameters with identical shank sizes. The overall length of the series ranges from 40 to 100 mm with a length of cut for the 3 and 20 mm cutters being 20 mm and 40 mm respectively, with all additional cutters in the series having a proportionate and optimised flute length.
