Hydrafeed Multiservo 102 barfeed calculates parts per bar in-process

Hydrafeed has expanded its short magazine bar feeding range for turning centres with the Multiservo 102 barfeed that has been designed to reduce downtime.

The MS102 barfeed measures up to the most demanding of high performance lathes. The automatic bar feeder is fully servo driven so requires no compressed air. Bars can be loaded into the unit leaving the barfeed to calculate the 'parts per bar' while the machine tool is working. This development can reduce the bar change time by up to 30%, say Hydrafeed. In scenarios where a twin spindle turning centre is pulling the bar, the MS102 will automatically 'countdown' with the machine tool. Other standard features include a touchscreen control which can store over 30 part programs – enabling the Hydrafeed MS102 to be automatically set to the required channel height, torque and length of component as the job is being set on the turning centre. Additionally, the MS102 uses the latest SSCNET technology which reduces electrical noise interference and offers advanced conversation between the electronic hardware. The MS102 has maximum 102 mm diameter and 1.6m length bar capacity. All bars are 'soft' loaded and supported by a durable, heavy duty bar magazine. The MS102 barfeed is fitted with floor rails that move in either Z or X axes as standard to facilitate access to the rear of the lathe.
