Hydrafeed introduces MSV80 full servo driven bar feed system

Hydrafeed's MSV80 short magazine barfeed system eliminates the need for compressed air by incorporating, as standard, complete servo control on all axes. Precision ground servo driven ball screws offer a bar positional accuracy of 0.1 mm. Standard bar diameter capacity ranges from 5 to 80 mm and bar lengths from 200 to 1,550 mm. Bespoke solutions are available to meet specific customer requirements.

Additional standard features include bar length measurement with the ability to accept random bar lengths, a barfeed or shaft loading system, a push-rod backstop facility and a user-friendly HMI screen to display the 100 part program storage system. The 'soft' bar loading mechanism loads bar from the storage magazine on to the rollers to provide minimum friction and it can cope with irregularly shaped bars or bars with a rough surface finish. The bar storage magazine has a standard depth of 0.6 m with a simple gradient adjustment that allows it to be ergonomically fitted to the front or rear of the barfeed. The operator uses the HMI screen to access stored production information and key in alternative bar diameters. This intuitive system simplifies and reduces changeover and process set-up times. The MSV80 is fixed to a floor mounted sliding rail, so that once it has been moved from the home position, the turning centre can be accessed safely and easily. The 600 mm magazine capacity MSV80 has a height range of between 860 to 1,300 mm. A 550 kg overall weight reflects a robust construction capable of eliminating vibration and bar movement to support the production of components with high quality surface finishes. The compact unit has an overall length of 2,180 mm and a depth of 1,250. Options available for the MSV80 include a bar support unit that can safely confine any bar length that may be longer than the headstock up to 1.55 m. An increased bar diameter of up to 102 mm can be accommodated for large component turning. Furthermore, Hydrafeed offers its innovative multi-stacking system for extended periods of lights-out production.
