Heckert HEC 800 X5 MT combines rapid rotation table turning with 5-axis machining
The Heckert HEC 800 X5 MT, accommodating an 800 by 800 mm pallet, combines an NC turning and swivel rapid-rotation table with a highly dynamic 5-axis machining centre for complete machining of complex workpieces in a single clamping. The Starrag company also promises long-term workpiece accuracy to 7 µm and process reliability – even when changing between rough machining and finishing.
The Heckert HEC 800 X5 MT's high performance CNC Fanuc 3i control system for complex multi-axis machining applications increases the machine tool's accuracy, reliability and operation. Users also have the option of acquiring the machine with a Siemens Sinumerik 840D sl.
Three linear axes (X, Y, Z) deliver a rapid feed of up to 60 m/min and acceleration of 7 m/sec². The NC rotary table provides rapid rotation of 60 rpm, and up to 500 rpm for turning.
Safety management in a power failure has also been addressed. A 'safe shutdown' option allows the axes to be brought to a controlled stop and then clamped. Hydraulic clamping of the rotation axes and a mechanical pallet clamping system provide additional security.
