Ductile cast iron turning grade insert

TaeguTec’s T-CAST TT7310 grade is a cemented coated carbide insert specifically for high performance turning applications on ductile cast iron the. Suited to the cast materials used in the automotive industry, the new grade can be applied to gray cast iron as well as ductile cast irons. The new grade has an enhanced performance that enables the TT7310 to machine ductile cast iron in a range from 150 m/min to 350 m/min and gray cast iron at anything from 150 m/min to 420 m/min. Consisting of a tough carbide substrate, the TT7310 grade has an “all black colour” CVD coating that has been developed using a new post-coating treatment technology that will provide a smooth surface and excellent surface finish on the work piece. This new grade has a thick coating with a tough carbide substrate that guarantees the inserts will deliver a good combination of wear and chipping resistance. The new grade is capable of delivering extended tool life, improved surface finish and reliability whilst working at high feed and speed rates to provide exceptionally productive results.
