Cast iron milling insert

TaeguTec's TT6080 milling insert grade is an improved version of the existing TT6030 and TT6060 grades.

The new insert encompasses the application range of both the pre-existing TT6030 and TT6060 grades, while delivering enhanced performance benefits. TT6080 is for machining both plain cast iron and nodular cast Iron, reducing costs, increasing tool life and enhancing productivity. Capable of operating at low to medium speeds, the TT6080 grade is an excellent choice for manufacturers that are machining a diverse range of cast irons. The TT6080 utilises an upgraded AlTiN coating on a TiN layer that has a coating affinity with K20H that increases coherence, which leads to longer tool life. Compared to existing coating grades, tool life is lengthened by 10 to 30 per cent on both grey cast iron and ductile cast iron with the TT6080. The coating process also incorporates TaeguTec's TMP coating and this enhances swarf removal and reduces friction to prevent built up edges. The new grade has already proven to improve tool life by 100 per cent over its TT6030 predecessor when machining FC250 cast iron at feed rates of 300 mm/min and speeds of 160 m/min. The speed and feed range of the TT6080 is extremely diverse.
