According to Taylor Hobson, innovative technology is at the core of the PGI NOVUS. For instance, the machine has a newly developed dual bias gauge, providing it with the capability to measure diameters and angles, and analyse surface finish in a normal and inverted direction with the same speed.
Applications include: ball-screw axial measurement – both sides for pitch circle diameters; bearings – spherical, roller and four-point contact; fuel injectors – straightness and seat angle; and multipart measurement using a single program.
Metrology 4.0 software offers an intuitive interface with a virtual display and real-time control. The software provides at-a-glance monitoring of the measurement process, while real-time simulation and true part co-ordinates enable monitoring and control to a level previously unprecedented in the industry, says the company.
