WNT has also developed four new end-mill ranges. The Type N HSS-E Co 5 series, which is suitable for materials that include steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and HRSAs, features an increasing tapered core and irregular pitch flutes. Diameters from 6 to 28 mm are available.
The key feature of Powdersteel Type N cutters is the wave profile along the length of the cutting edge, which helps reduce vibration and improve surface quality, says WNT, while Powdersteel Type HR cutters feature serrated cutting edges to create smaller chip sizes. Finally, Type H cutters make use of a powder steel material that eliminates carbon from the mix but maximises performance through the use of cobalt, molybdenum and iron.
