Mastertool 4-flute cutters released by WNT

WNT (UK) is introducing a range of 4-flute solid carbide slot and end-milling cutters as part of its Mastertool portfolio. The cutters have been developed as a result of customer feedback and are said to bring the benefits of high performance milling to those faced with producing shorter batch runs.

Suited to machining steel, stainless steel, heat -esistant alloys, light alloys and cast iron components, the 4-flute solid carbide cutters can operate at surface speeds of between 20 and 100 m/min for heat-resistant alloys, and between 110 and 300 m/min for other materials, with feed rates up to 0.07 mm/tooth, depending on cutter diameter and application.

A variety of cutting strategies can be employed, including full slot, ramping, shoulder and helical milling. The tools are available in nine diameters of from 3 to 20 mm, with a choice of flute lengths.
