WNT offers additional standard drill lengths for C900 high feed drill system

WNT (UK)'s C900 high feed indexable insert drilling system is now offered in additional 3X, 4X, and 5X diameter standard drill lengths. Drill diameters start at 14 mm for all lengths and up to 63 mm diameter in the case of 3X diameter drills, with the longer diameter to length ratios going up to 54 and 41 mm respectively.
Both drill body design and insert pockets of WNT C900 high feed drills create a platform aimed at maximising process security and feedrates, even at depths of 5X diameter. The drill body and insert geometry also promote maximum chip flow.
C900 High Feed Drills use identical inserts in the peripheral and central insert pockets. This reduces inventory and also simplifies the tool set-up as the operator does not have to identify the correct insert for each position. A universal carbide grade, covering all drilling applications, further simplifies matters.
Each insert features four cutting edges and is manufactured from the CCN 1430 PVD coated carbide grade for an optimum combination of toughness and wear resistance. The drilling system also performs well in applications requiring holes in uneven, inclined, or convex surfaces; and components with cross holes, welded seams, and chain drilling operations pose little problems, says WNT
