Warwick unveils Ona QX die-sink EDMs

Ona has launched its QX range of die-sink machines, which is available in the UK from Warwick Machine Tools. The QX series includes a newly developed, 100% digital generator that the company says delivers an increase in productivity of up to 60% when performing finishing operations with copper or graphite electrodes.

Furthermore, when machining deep and narrow grooves, Ona says that productivity can be increased by up to 50%, without any increase in electrode wear. In fact, it is claimed that electrodes can last up to five times longer, depending on the application.

The machines were launched at the recent BIEMH exhibition in Spain, where the Ona QX4 and the larger QX8 Modular were demonstrated. QX Modular machines allow customers to configure the machine to their exact specification. The largest QX Modular machine is the QX10, which features axis travels of 3,000 by 1,500 by 1,000 mm in X, Y and Z, respectively.
