Two Seco TK Duratomic insert grades for turning cast iron introduced

Both the new grades, TK1501 and TK0501, have wide application potential and feature Seco’s Duratomic coating technology. Introduced by the company in 2007 initially for steel and stainless steel turning, Durotomic has been developed and refined and now includes cast iron grades.

Duratomic inserts are tough and wear-resistant, delivering more parts per edge and increasing productivity and reducing tooling costs.

TK1501 and TK0501 incorporate Seco’s Edge Intelligence concept (see video), which helps manufacturers visually see if an insert’s cutting edges have been used.

The new grades are available in different insert sizes, various geometries and boast several chip-breaker configurations to suit all cast iron turning requirements.
