Technifor releases 3D stylus dot peen marker

Technifor, a Gravograph group company, has unveiled a high amplitude 3D stylus that is said to be capable of following the profile of every component to be marked. Regardless of whether the part features sloping planes, out-of-flat surfaces or deformed surfaces, the stylus tip extends and retracts automatically, as it follows the profile

With an amplitude of 16 mm, the 3D stylus can also perform ‘stepped’ markings on different levels of the same workpiece – and in a single cycle. With no need for an actuator or a Z-axis on the marking head, it enables engraving in recesses, hollows and difficult-to-reach places.

According to Technifor, the quality of Data Matrix codes is very close to that obtained with electromagnetic technology.
