TaeguTec Mill2Rush series milling cutters accommodate six corner double-sided inserts

TaeguTec has launched Mill2Rush milling cutter bodies that accommodate double-sided inserts with six corners to reduce insert changeovers and improve productivity.

The Mill2Rush series provides an economical solution with a positive helical cutting edge that reduces cutting forces and vibration while offering excellent surface finish, says TaeguTec. The cutters are available in end mill, modular or face mill type for slotting, shouldering and plunging operations. TaeguTec has developed an insert range to encompass grades for machining low and high carbon steel, alloy, tool and stainless steel as well as titanium alloys, high temp alloys and gray and nodular cast iron. This makes them suitable for use in the aerospace, automotive and mould and die industries as well as in general machine shop applications, suggests TaeguTec. The inserts are available in TT7080, TT9080, TT8080, TT7800, TT6800 and TT6080 grades for machining at feeds of 0.1 to 0.25 mm/tooth on a very wide range of materials. The Mill2Rush inserts are extremely thick with a novel geometry for high strength cutting performance. With a wide wiper flat to improve surface finish and a positive axial rake angle, the Mill2Rush promotes smooth cutting by generating low cutting forces. The Mill2Rush end mill and the modular cutters are both available in 25, 32 or 40 mm diameters with the option of two, three or four insert pockets on the cutter body while the face milling cutter is available from 40 to 160 mm diameters with four to 16 insert pockets. The rigid and robust face milling cutters have a weight from 0.3 to 4.3 kg depending upon the selected diameter. Like the end mill, the face milling cutter is available with through coolant. The three cutter bodies all employ TaeguTec's dovetail clamping design feature that it says increases the clamping forces to ensure a secure and rigid clamping structure.
