The LS-Mill end mill series offers the end user a wide variety of grades and chip formers that are thicker and stronger than standard ISO inserts. These attributes immediately improve tool life, stability, rigidity and provide the ability to machine at higher speeds and feeds, thus improving productivity considerably. The 75° cutter has the option of a 50 or 63 mm cutting diameter with a shank diameter of 32 or 42 mm. The 50 mm cutter is available with the option of three or five insert pockets while the larger 63 mm cutter offers four or six insert pockets for improved stock removal rates. The 90° LS-Mill end mill is available with 50, 63 or 80 mm diameter options. The 50 mm cutter is available with either two or three insert pockets while the 63 mm cutter offers three or four pockets, with the 80° cutter only available with four insert seats. Diversity is a key feature of the LS-Mill end mill series, it is available in TaeguTec's TT7060, TT9080, TT8030, P30, TT6290, T6080 and K10 grades. This diverse range of inserts allows the cutters to be applied to low and high carbon steel, alloyed, tool and stainless steel, aluminium and high temperature alloys, titanium alloys as well as gray and nodular cast iron. Dependant upon machine tool, application and insert grades, the cutters can machine at speeds up to 500 m/min at cutting depths up to 7.5 mm and feed rates of 0.5 mm per tooth.
