Surtech extends its range of welding tables and workstations

German company Surface Technology Products (Surtech) has extended its range of Siegmund jigging and fixturing tables for robotic and manual welding, measuring, monitoring and assembly, and bending and folding stations. The tables are manufactured to a tolerance of 0.03 mm and incorporate a 3D modular positioning and clamping system.

Constructed from high quality plasma nitrided steel with a hardness of over 700 Vickers to deliver scratch and erosion resistance, as well as protection against impact and welding spatter adhesion, the tables can be supplied as bespoke solutions to meet the demands of the individual user and application. Modular five-sided welding tables feature grid patterns, holes and reusable tools, and incorporate a universal bolt system that can be reliably fixed in place in seconds with one hand. Tables are available in four standard designations, the Basic 16 and 28, and the Professional 16 or 28. Each provides an extremely robust surface with precision holes for installing fixtures, jigs and other clamping devices and modules, to create a high precision workstation. The Basic 16 is a lightweight bench with the ability to hold loads up to 500 kg. Standard dimensions offered are 1.2 by 0.8, 1 by 1, 1.2 by 1.2 and 1.5 by 1 m. Each table is 50 mm deep and incorporates a ribbed under-surface for strength. Precision 16 mm dia holes, 50 mm apart, are arranged in a grid pattern in the surface. The larger Basic 28 has a 1,000 kg load capacity and has 28 mm diameter holes in the surface at 100 mm distances. Standard dimensions are 1 by 1, 1.5 by 1, 2.4 by 1.2 and 3 by 1.5 m. Professional series tables have been designed for more demanding manufacturing environments and have a plasma nitrided surface coating. The Professional 16 is available in sizes from 1 by 0.5 m through to 3 by 1.5 m with a 2,000 kg load capacity. Tables can be extended to any size either by coupling them together or by mounting them on a common base or rails. The 1 by 1 m to 4 by 2 m Professional 28 workstations have a 4,000 kg load capacity. The side of this table is 200 mm deep for side clamping and fixturing, while on the underside reinforcing ribbing is spaced at 500 mm intervals for added rigidity. Legs can also be supplied to enable the table to carry up to 8,000 kg. To complement its tables, Surtech has a catalogue of accessories and bolt-on parts to improve ease of use and capabilities.
