Modular welding tables prove capable of speeding up changeover times

Modular S4 System welding tables can be used for workshop applications that include measuring, monitoring, multi-clamping assemblies, fixture construction, bending and folding. The S4 is available in two basic versions: with 16 mm holes and a 50 mm grid or alternatively with 28 mm holes and a 100 mm grid. The S4 system design includes a universal ball bolt enabling components to be fixed reliably in seconds, thus reducing set-up and changeover times. Comparative tests with conventional work tables and screw clamps suggest a potential saving of up to 40 per cent, says UK agent Surface Technology. For hole spacing and operations that demand a level of accuracy the S4 can hold a working tolerance of 0.03 mm. Constructed from high quality steel, the S4 provides a high degree of dimensional precision and robustness. S4 tables are available in various materials such as steel, cast iron or stainless steel to suit the needs and applications of the end user. For extremely robust applications S4 tables are available from extremely strong Hardox, steel from which digger shovels are manufactured.
