Welding tables aid increased productivity

Siegmund Group's modular S4 System of welding tables (Surface Technology Products) can be used for workshop applications that include measuring, monitoring, multi-clamping assemblies, fixture construction, bending and folding.

The S4 system has a mechanical design that encompasses a universal ball bolt enabling components to be fixed reliably in seconds, reducing set-up and changeover times. Comparative tests with conventional work tables and screw clamps showed a potential saving of up to 40 per cent. With more than 100 additional tools, the S4 system is the ideal partner for producing individual welded parts and prototypes for both single and series productions, either for manual and/or robotic applications. For hole spacing and alternate operations that demand a level of accuracy, the S4 can hold a working tolerance of 0.03 mm. The S4 tables are available in various materials such as steel, cast iron or stainless steel to suit the needs and applications of the end user. For extremely robust applications S4 tables are available in Hardox, steel from which digger shovels are manufactured. Now available with plasma-nitrided coatings, the latest version of the S4 table is hardened to approximately 550 Vickers, which offers optimal resistance to weld spatter, scratching and corrosion.
