Seco introduces TP1030 cermet grade for high volume threading

Seco Tools' TP1030 cermet grade is designed to deliver outstanding threading performance and maintain excellent tool life in high production thread turning operations – especially when machining steels and stainless steels.

TP1030 enables users to achieve and maintain tight tolerance and high surface finishes across a wide cutting speed spectrum. For this Seco recommends using its HD threading holders. TP1030 has an ultra-fine grain cermet substrate and is available in an S-type insert to ensure a uniform profile edge line. Compared to carbide, TP1030 exhibits superior crater wear resistance and reduced built-up edge risk. A TiSiAIN nano-laminate PVD coating further protects the edge. TP1030 cermet grade, aimed at machining steels and stainless steels, complements Seco's existing CP500, CP300 and CP200 PVD-coated carbide threading inserts. It is offered in the most common external and internal profiles and pitches, such as ISO 1.0-3.0 mm, UN 20-8 TPI and W 19-11, as well as 60º partial profiles.
