Seco expands disc-milling cutter range

Seco has expanded its range of disc-milling inserts and cutter bodies, adding the 335.14 small-diameter exchangeable head system, its 335.16 cutter range for T-slot operations, and cassette versions of its 335.25 cutters that incorporate round inserts.

Featuring small diameter exchangeable carbide heads, 335.14 is versatile and boasts precise cutting profiles that can tackle any material. These cutters are ideal for groove milling, circlip grooves, full radius profiles and chamfering.

The 335.14 product line is available in a wide variety of cylindrical and integrated collet chuck shanks, with diameters ranging from 9. to 34.7 mm and cutting widths from 0.7 to 5.15 mm.

The stable 335.16 cutters incorporate four-edged inserts that deliver increased economy in T-slot operations. The cutters have state-of-the-art insert geometries that help reduce machining forces and noise and, as a consequence, significantly improve tool life. They also feature centralised cooling channels for effective chip removal ensuring superior surface finishes and high part quality. The cutters are available in diameters ranging from 25 to 50 mm, based on standard T-slot dimensions. The wide selection of insert geometries and insert grades can cut many materials in widths ranging from 11 to 21 mm.

The expanded line of 335.25 disc-mill cutters now includes new cassettes for 16 and 20 mm round insert diameters. These cutters deliver exceptional performance in numerous machining operations (full side, face or half side, face etc.) that require corner radii.

Exchangeable cassettes ensure long, reliable cutter performance, while a wide choice of insert geometries and grades ensure more effective machining operations (and results) and improved efficiencies, irrespective of the material being machined.

Regular and extra-large cassette sizes accept 16 and 20 mm round insert diameters, and cutter diameters range from 100 to 315 mm.
