Mazak launches multi-tasking machine for large workpieces

Yamazaki Mazak has launched the Integrex e-670H multi-tasking machine tool that has been designed and built for the safe, efficient and accurate machining of large workpieces.

The Integrex e-670H, part of the Integrex e-H II series of machines, is a combination of machining centre and turning centre, with the combined main turning and milling spindle delivering 50 hp milling capability. The machine has a part machining capacity of 1,070 mm diameter by up to 6,000 mm in length between centres. In addition, the Integrex e-670H can be equipped with an NC programmable steady rest and a tailstock that provide enhanced large parts capacity. Applications requiring long bores to be machined can be accommodated with three boring bars up to 1.4 m in length, which can be stored in the integrated automatic toolchanger. The Integrex e-670H is also equipped with a U-axis and has the ability to hold long milling tools for special-purpose applications. A spindle through bore of 260 mm, in conjunction with the capability to perform gear cutting, deep hole drilling, milling and turning, makes the machine suitable for applications such as those found in the aerospace, the oil and gas and power generation industries. The enhanced axis performance achieved through the integration of latest technology linear roller guideways means that the e-670H is also effective for smaller intricate applications. The Integrex e-670H machine guarding incorporates the latest Mazak design providing enhanced visibility and accessibility to the working area. It is also equipped with a number of environmental features which reduce energy consumption and therefore the through-life cost of operation, including LED lighting, personnel sensor, intelligent chip conveyor, NC display off and power consumption meter. The Integrex e-670H has the latest Mazatrol Matrix CNC for efficient programming of the most complex components.
