Incorporating an 18.5 kW, 8,000 rpm, high-torque B-axis milling head with the option of 12,000 rpm and the added flexibility of a 250 mm Y-axis crossfeed stroke, Hyundai Kia SKT 2500 MT Multi-Tasking Centre boasts broad mill-turning capability. The machine has a bar capacity of 76 mm, a 10 in chuck size and options of programmable tailstock or full sub-spindle for combined ‘one-hit’ machining cycles.
This mill-turn centre combines high power in a heavy duty single cast bed construction with rigid box guideways and a rigid B-axis milling head. This milling head, which also accommodates normal lathe tooling, is supported by a 22 tool magazine having further options of 43 or 65 pockets for long complex combined feature cycles requiring large numbers of tools or the support of sister tool replacement.
The main spindle is powered by a built-in 30 kW, 4,000 rpm C-axis spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 500 by 1,100 mm turning length. The swing over the bed is 780 mm diameter. The sub-spindle option, which has a full C-axis capability, enables synchronised part exchange at 30 m/min rapid traverse. If the optional, fully programmable 110 mm diameter quill tailstock is specified, automatic clamp and unclamp is incorporated.
