Lion Mill cutter range extended

TaeguTec has expanded its LionMill range with a series of face mill cutters with a 45° entering angle and corresponding inserts to offer end users additional machining options.
The cutters are available in 80, 100, 125, 160, 200 and 250 mm diameters with 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 insert pockets respectively.
The cutters are available with a number of options to accommodate 12 and 15 mm inserts, available in TaeguTec's TT7080 and TT7070 grades, for the machining of a diverse range of low and high carbon steels, alloy steels and iron.
This improved LionMill line for steel machining will replace the pre-existing ISO Face Mill (M445SD & M545SE) for 45° machining, while continuing to deliver the advantages of the existing line.
The combination of a new cutter body and insert line delivers a range of benefits for customers.
The cutter body incorporates TaeguTec's NicoTec coating technology that enhances corrosion and scratch prevention to improve tool life and longevity. The cutter body also has a carbide shim and wedge clamping system that replaces the previous steel anvil and wedge clamping system.
This new configuration simplifies assembly for the operator while the carbide shim extends durability. The system also offers improved clamping stability which improves precision, tool life and surface finishes.
