Kyocera introduces PG chipbreaker

Germany-based Kyocera has introduced the PG chipbreaker for inserts to provide chip control and cutting edge stability and support productivity in medium roughing and roughing steel.

The PG chipbreaker also prevents the formation of shavings and the possibility of chip biting. Kyocera says optimum chip control is possible at cutting depths between 1 and 4 mm and within a feedrate range of 9.15 to 0.45 mm per revolution. The company also advises that its tool life-promoting CVD coating technology is being used on its latest series additions CA510 and CA530.
