ITC cutters for machining aluminium

ITC's 3081 Cyber Series of end mills, developed in conjunction with leading motorsport teams and aerospace manufacturers, has been launched to improve performance and productivity of aluminium machining.

The radical 3-flute geometry solid carbide series of end mills are said to offer exceptional surface finishes, productivity levels and swarf clearance. The swarf evacuation permits the series to run at very high feed and speed rates. The highly polished flutes assist in the swarf clearance process by preventing waste material sticking to the cutter, which also enables the series to provide high quality surface finishes. The straight shank series is available in 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm diameters with 12, 15, 20, 22, 25, 30, 35 and 40 mm lengths of cut, respectively. Having a shank diameter identical to the cutting diameter on cutters with an overall length of 40, 50, 64, 70, 84, 90 and 100 mm, the 3081 Cyber Series is extremely rigid and robust for high feed machining. The rigidity of the cutters eliminates vibration and chatter and this contributes to the enhanced surface finishes and extended tool life. Manufactured from ultra wear resistant micro grain carbide, the composition of the 3081 Series improves tool life and prevents chipping on the cutting edge.
