Insize digital microscopes offer opportunities to cut inspection costs

A division of Cutwel, to be known as Cutwel Metrology, will make the manufacturer's metrology products more readily available to the UK market.
Cutwel Metrology products include Insize universal digital microscope cameras which show objects in 'live view' with up to 200x magnification on the computer screen. While there are many potential uses for the microscopes in and outside manufacturing, Cutwel suggests they present an opportunity for manufacturers to reduce their CMM costs by using a far less expensive Insize microscope whenever possible. The range in price from £120-265.
Measurement accuracy is quoted as 5 µm (ISM-PM600SA) and the microscopes can measure circles, lines, angles, radii, etc, compare features, visually check surface finish and features not visible to the naked eye and calculate distances.
Insite microscopes can take pictures and videos and a USB connection allows the data to be transferred straight to computer to be processed and reviewed in Word, Excel or CAD. The microscopes' operating systems are all compatible with Windows 7/XP/Vista.
