Hypertherm launches 1 and 2 kW versions of its HyIntensity fibre laser

Hypertherm is now manufacturing the 2 kW HFL020 and the 1 kW HFL010 HyIntensity fiber laser systems. These join the 1.5 kW model that the company developed as the first fully-integrated fibre laser system designed specifically for cutting and marking applications, which was launched in 2010

These powerful HyIntensity fibre laser systems are suitable for a wide range of applications and give consistent cut quality across a number of material types, says Hypertherm, including brass and copper and thicknesses up to 16 mm on mild steel. The company says cutting speeds are higher and operating costs are lower than with CO2 laser or plasma on material thicknesses below 6 mm. The system is also capable of good cut quality and tolerances in fine feature work on materials from under 1 mm up to plate thickness. The HyIntensity fibre laser systems can be integrated and installed on existing cutting tables, even tables that already have a plasma torch.
