Handtmann PBZ HD profile machining centre removes 6.5 l/min when cutting monolithic aluminium allows

Available in the UK from the Engineering Technology Group, the newly-developed Handtmann PBZ HD 5-axis profile machining centre can remove 6.5 l/min in monolithic aluminium while performing interference-free contouring and precise machining across an entire profile length of up to 30 m.

Typical applications in the aerospace sector include the machining of aluminium crossbeams, floor beams, nose beams and lattice rails.

Complete machining of all five sides of the part, including milling, sawing, drilling, thread milling and cutting, is said to be possible in a single clamping. Furthermore, complete integrated chip management over the entire machine length makes it easy to remove high volumes of chips.

Customers have the choice of either a clamping vice or a table version. The maximum workpiece cross-section on the clamping vice version is 800 by 300 mm; for the table version profiles up to 800 by 575 mm are tackled.
