Faro TrackArm extends range of FaroArm CMM systems
Faro's TrackArm kit unites the up to 80 m range of its Laser Tracker Vantage with its FaroArm product family – Edge, Prime or Fusion – into a long-reach, six-degree-of-freedom probe. This means that the co-ordinate measurement system can reach hidden points that are out of the Laser Tracker's line of sight – around corners and inside hole features.
The TrackArm solution, which employs innovative adapters, also eliminates the need for a synchronisation cable between the units and enables the system to be operated wirelessly.
CAM2 Measure 10 software provides a simple user interface to quickly switch back and forth between the Tracker and Arm systems. Attaching Faro's Laser Line Probe to the Arm enables extended scanning and non-contact inspection capability for reverse engineering, CAD-to-part analysis and inspection purposes.
The FaroArm and Laser Tracker are stand-alone portable CMMs that can also be used independently. The TrackArm is available as a complete system (Laser Tracker, FaroArm and TrackArm kit). Current FaroArm and Faro Laser Tracker users can order a TrackArm upgrade to enable the two CMMs to work together.
