Engis Diamond-Plated lapping rings are engineered to consistently regenerate surface texture, flatness and parallelism of composite lap plates. They eliminate the variable results that can be produced by conventional abrasive reconditioning, says the superabrasives specialist. The conditioning rings are also suitable for removing the previous layer of charged diamond, so presenting a new face to be charged with fresh particles.
Engis Stainless-Steel-backed ceramic work rings are capable not only of charging particles into the lapping plate, but can also hold the parts carriers in position during the lapping process. They are backed with 304 stainless for tensile strength and corrosion resistance.
