Electrox Raptor and D-Box bring cost of laser marker to sub-£10k

Electrox believes its Raptor and D-Box solution, priced at under £10,000, is the lowest cost galvo-based marking system available in the UK. It is aimed at high value, low volume manufacturing, especially in autosport, medical devices and aerospace industries.

The Electrox Raptor can permanently mark at a rate of 1,000 characters per second with an accuracy of 5 micron. Long-term legibility is assured because the laser changes the colour of the substrate, so marks won't fade or rub off even in demanding environments such as aerospace and autosport. The Raptor is supported by the D-Box workstation. As well as a robust and safe working environment, says Electrox, it provides an intuitive user interface for laser marking operations. It is manufactured from welded steel and incorporates a lift-up door, protective viewing window and fume extraction port. The D-Box can also be programmed and controlled directly from a standard PC or laptop using the Windows operating system, unlike traditional solutions, the company points out, which require the use of a handheld 'pendant' operator interface. Electrox is confidently offering a two-year return to base warranty against machine breakdown.
