e-Ramtech V/8 II features second RAM-type spindle for turning and milling
The most recent addition to the Integrex e-V II series is the e-Ramtec V/8 II, a bridge-type, double-column vertical machining centre with a novel headstock. The e-Ramtec is capable of machining extremely complex internal and external features of large turned parts 5-axis slotting, turn-mill roughing, as well as ID and OD grinding and drilling of holes at compound angles through the side of the workpiece at varying depths.
Like other Mazak Integrex e-V II series machines, the e- Ramtec C V/8 headstock features a powerful 37 kW, 50 taper milling spindle for full 5-axis, heavy duty, machining on the B-axis with 150° (-30° to +120°) rotation for vertical, horizontal, and angular cutting. However, this machine also has a second, 3,000 rpm, 7.5 kW RAM-type spindle (W-axis) for turning and milling, contained in the same headstock, capable of reaching 900 mm into the interior features of complex parts.
Integrex e- Ramtec V/8 delivers very high accuracies on turned, angled, and sculptured part characteristics, inside and out, often without moving the workpiece after its initial clamping, saving untold set-ups and tolerance stack-ups.
An optional 40-tool Capto C6 changer for the vertical ram spindle is available to allow a broad selection of turning, milling, drilling and tapping tools to be on-board, avoiding interruptions to the machining cycle. The main B-axis, 50 taper spindle is equipped with an optional 80-tool storage magazine to enhance unattended operations and redundant tooling strategies.
The e-Ramtec V/8 features two 800 mm square pallets in the standard pallet-changing configuration, which can be expanded easily into a Mazak Palletech material-handling cell. Workpiece capacity is 1,250 mm in both diameter and height. The C-axis rotary table is driven by a 37 kW motor at a maximum speed of 500 rpm for turning applications. This rugged table can handle 2,700 kg of weight, yet position in the C-axis at 0.0001° increments for precision contouring. Machine travels are 1,875 mm in the X-axis, 1,060 mm in the Y-axis, and 1,595 mm in the Z-axis. Axes rapid travel rates are 42 m/min.
