Dodeka face mills maximise performance in carbon and stainless steels

Dodeka inserts and cutters from Kennametal are engineered to deliver higher cutting speeds and feedrates along with extended tool life in demanding face-milling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, ductile iron and other materials. With 12 cutting edges per insert, the special Dodeka geometry generates low cutting forces, resulting in increased performance per edge. The inserts are also designed for ease of use, with a single screw for insert changing and indexing. Dodeka HD roughing inserts exhibit excellent chip-forming and evacuation characteristics along with high accuracy – axial run-out is less than 0.0004 inches and radial run-out is no more than 0.002 inches. Featuring six cutting edges (three right hand and three left hand), only a single Dodeka wiper insert is needed to achieve a surface finish better than RA 1.5 m at high cutting speeds. Inch and metric diameters are available across the entire Dodeka family.
