Iscar T465 FLN - R-22ST face-mills

Iscar has new face-mills called the T465 FLN - R-22ST series.

They're a modified family of 65° cutting edge angle, face mills featuring protective seats to improve durability across a variety of heavy machining applications. The tools are available in 125 to 315 mm diameters and are aimed at the machining of large parts such as those found in power generation and marine industries. Iscar says its 65° cutting edge angle is extremely efficient way of achieving high metal removal rates when face machining cast iron and steel components. In addition, the company says they minimise burrs and edge chipping, especially in cast iron applications. They can also be used to cut stainless steel and high temperature alloys. The face-mills carry tangentially clamped inserts with four cutting edges that can be used for up to a 19 mm depth of cut. The insert variant (T465 LNHT 2212) has a high positive rake cutting angle for a light cut and a positive axial angle (RH helix) for soft entry to, and exit from, the workpiece. The insert also features a 2.5 mm flat wiper to support high quality surface finish. Other insert variants are available with chip splitting grooves that can significantly improve performance in rough milling operations.
