DMG horizontal range offers high productivity

The DMC H Series re-modelled horizontal machining centres now incorporate the proven duoBLOCK design. It provides up to 20 pere cent higher precision, 30 per cent greater rigidity, a 40 per cent increase in working area and 50 per cent higher dynamics. There are seven models in the range, two linear motor driven - the DMC 60H linear and the DMC 80H linear, and five ballscrew-drive - DMC 50H, 70H, 80H, 100H and 125H. Crucially, duoBLOCK also provides 100 per cent more individuality as it allows the optimum machine configuration to be specified for the job. As a result an exceptionally wide range of applications can be accommodated through various dedicated features and expansion possibilities. A complete range of systems solutions are available from automatic pallet changers and flexible manufacturing cells with 6- and 10-pallet magazine up to systems with pallet and tool handling via gantry loaders and robots. With its DMC H Series DMG can provide the complete turnkey solution for series production with complementary process integration such as workpiece cleaning and quality control. If speed is a priority, the DMC 60H linear and the DMC 80H linear offer rapid traverses up to 100m/min, accelerations up to 1.6g and short chip-to-chip times of only 2.8 seconds. These machines feature an 18,000 rpm motor spindle that reaches maximum rotational speed in just 1.6 seconds. The standard tool magazine has 45 stations with an optional 354 pockets. Also available is a special magazine for five tools with a length of up to 800 mm. A fast pallet changer provides the ideal interface for expanded automation allowing it to be transformed into a production cell with pallet station or a chain-linked production centre. For ballscrew models, an optional dynamics package increases productivity by up to 20 per cent providing even faster rapid traverses of 80 m/min, higher acceleration of 1g and shorter chip-to-chip times. At no extra cost these machines may be specified for performance milling with 10,000 rpm or 18,000 rpm spindle speed. Greater flexibility and shorter idle times result from the innovative tool handling options. As standard the machines have a 45-station rotary tool magazine – with optionally 354 pockets – and can accept tool lengths up to 55 mm and up to a maximum of 15 kg (SK40). Further options include a chain magazine for 60, 120 or 180 tools or a wall magazine with tool lock enabling 2 x 30 tools to be set-up in parallel to production time. Heavy metal removal with precision is the domain of the ballscrew-driven DMC 80, 100 and 125H duoBLOCK machines. A maximum working area of 1,000 by 1,000 by 1,000 mm sets them apart from their competitors, with this complemented by a drive power to 44 kW, torque of 1,240 Nm and a standard tool magazine for up to 360 tools.
