DMG DMC 65 monoBlock vertical machining centre offers 5-axis milling with pallet changer

DMG's DMC 65 monoBlock 5-axis milling machine is based on the DMU introduced in 2010. The most significant difference is the three-pallet automatic pallet changer. This has been adapted so that the work and set-up area remain accessible from the front. Crane loading from the top to the centre of the worktable remains possible.

The machine requires 16.5 m2 of floor space and, says the company, the combination of highly productive 5-axis milling machine and separately accessible pallet changer reduces set-up times and leaves users with enough play for flexible planning. The 500 by 500 mm pallets can take workpieces up to 630 mm dia and 500 mm high and weighing up to 500 kg and DMG/Mori Seiki believes the capabilities of the DMC 65 monoBlock will be most fully exploited in single piece machining. The work area, which houses a fast swivel-round table, accommodates XYZ traverses of 650 by 650 by 560 mm respectively. The 30-pocket tool magazine (optionally up to 180) can be easily operated from the front, says DMG/Mori Seiki, and the swivel blade exchanger enables chip-to-chip times of 4.9 sec. All levels of tool magazine configuration are integrated directly into the machine, so that even a 120-pocket magazine requires no additional space. In addition to the standard 10,000 rpm/83 Nm torque spindle DMG/Mori Seiki offers spindle options of 14,000 rpm/100 Nm, 18,000 rpm/119 Nm, 24,000 rpm/100 Nm – as well as strong spindle with 10,000 rpm/200 Nm. A stainless steel steeply inclined inner lining facilitates chip disposal in the wide central chip conveyor.
