Intended for plate machining, the unit has a working area of 500 by 400 mm, with traverses of 520 by 420 by 220 mm and a 2 kW spindle offering up to 40,000 rpm that is served by a 24-position tool magazine that boasts an integrated tool length measurement station. Maximum traverse rate is up to 28 m/min. Access from the front allows for quick and safe part set-up.The machine fits through a standard door.
The Neo also features a smartphone-like, touch-screen control interface, while there is camera-assisted set-up, driven by swipe gestures, that substitutes for manual entry of workpiece position and dimensions. App-based functions are on offer, too.
Compatible with leading CAM suppliers, the machine requires just four steps to deliver a finished workpiece, says Datron.
