Citizen launches top of the range Miyano ABX-64SYY

With Citizen Machinery UK's launch of the 64 mm bar size, 6 inch chuck, twin-spindle, twin-turret Miyano ABX-64SYY, it extends the single-cycle capability of its high productivity ABX turn-mill offering.

The Miyano ABX-64SYY has a 15 kW main and 7.5 kW secondary spindle, with automatic part transfer at 30 m/min rapid traverse. Two 12-station all-driven turrets each have 4.5 kW, 6,000 rpm driven tool speed and up to 40 Nm of torque that will accommodate heavy duty milling sequences. Miyano's own Stealth technology, incorporated into the Fanuc control, enables on-site fine tuning of the machine to account for individual working environments or tailoring machine performance to specific applications. Development of the 11 tonne, heavy duty, solid way Miyano ABX-64SYY has focused on improved flexibility to optimise any turn-milling operation and shorten cycle times with the two turrets being able to work or both spindles to enhance its simultaneous cutting capability. The machine's rigidity allows it to process difficult materials while maintaining a consistent performance and level of quality over extended periods. This is especially important when cycles involve considerable levels of milling or the demands of hard turning to replace separate grinding operations. Miyano's close-loop Stealth technology and monitoring through strategic sensors enable the machine to be fine-tuned to counter any thermal growth effects or influence. Other factors, such as the influence of high pressure coolant supply and heavy duty cutting involving extensive milling and drilling at high penetration rates that can produce greater volumes of swarf, can also be accommodated. Options available for the Miyano ABX-64SYY include high pressure coolant, parts-catcher and outfeed conveyor, a parts carrier for longer components and a range of automation packages. There are also software packs that include helical interpolation, rigid tapping, variable lead thread cutting and tool life management.
