Miyano BNA comes in two turret version for simultaneous machining

The latest Miyano BNA 42 mm capacity, fixed head compact mill-turn centre from Citizen Machinery UK is available in either a single or a twin-turret version with the latter being capable of simultaneous machining cycles. Both BNA machines have two spindles with the BNA-42MSY being served by a single turret and the BNA-42DHY configured around two spindles and two turrets.

The BNA-42MSY has an uprated 11 kW main spindle and 5.5 kW secondary spindle and BNA-42DHY has a 7.5 kW main and 5.5 kW secondary spindle. Both machines have a main eight-station, all-driven Y-axis turret capable of presenting more than 16 tools to the workpiece using multi-position toolholders. However, to satisfy needs for greater flexibility of tooling set-up, to improve one-hit cycle times and overlapped machining sequences, the Miyano BNA-42DHY has the added advantage gained from its totally independent secondary six-station sub-turret. The compact BNA-42DHY and BNA-42MSY series machines require just 2.2 by 1.4 m and 2.2 by 1.3 m of floor space respectively and in order to maintain the compact structure both spindles are a special 'flat' type and the DHY and MSY have, respectively, maximum speeds of 5,000 or 6,000 rpm. The maximum speed on each machine's secondary spindle is 5,000 rpm. The main turret on both machines has a Y-axis travel of ±35 mm with eight driven positions powered by a 2.8 kW, 5,000 rpm motor. Through a half-index mechanism, two additional fixed tools can be mounted at each of the eight positions to enable 16 tools to be applied to the component. Index time station to station is 0.2 sec. The increased specification of the Miyano BNA-42DHY with its two-axis, six-station secondary turret, set beside the main spindle, provides an additional tooling and overlapping capability independent from the main turret. The additional turret will hold three turning and three drilling tools.
