Adjustable boring heads featre micron-level control

The WNT Swiss Tool Digihead features a high resolution digital display that allows micron level adjustments to be made. To further ensure accuracy, the heads feature integrated direct distance measuring technology. This is linked to the display to show precise radial adjustment values, allowing simple, on-machine adjustment. The use of this technology eliminates any potential errors that may be caused by backlash in conventional boring heads. Boring bar adjustment is made using the supplied key, which has a magnet embedded within it. When the magnet is in proximity of the digital head the display is activated, a feature that greatly extends the life of the easily changeable battery. The range of units can cover bore diameters between 3.0 and 88.1 mm and the quality of manufacture enables them to be operated at speeds up to 16 000 rpm. Further versatility is provided by the availability of units as either a stand-alone Digihead with a HSK-A 63; MAS BT40; or DIN 69871 (SK40) machine interface or a complete kits that include the Digihead and four boring bars.
