ACT takes edge off with Nine9 NC deburring line

Advanced Carbide Tooling (ACT) has introduced the Nine9 NC deburring series. These have been developed to deliver deburring and countersinking on all machine tools, from sliding-head lathes through to machining centres.

The ability of the Nine9 NC deburring line to run at feed rates of up to six times faster than alternative solutions is credit to its patent-pending, six-flute edge geometry.

Hole diameters as small as 0.5 mm can be deburred and countersunk, while both 60 and 90° chamfers can be created at depths from 0.1 to 1.75 mm.

To enhance the flexibility of the NC deburring series, the corresponding toolholder also accommodates the Nine9 range of XO60 engraving tools. The 60 mm long toolholder is manufactured from a high alloy steel to maximise rigidity and prolong the tool life of both the 6 mm diameter shank and the insert.
