ACT Nine9 corner rounding cutters simplify chamfering and deburring

Nine9 indexable corner rounding cutters now available from Advanced Carbide Tooling (ACT) have four cutting edges for cost effective front and back chamfering while their CNC ground insert geometries are designed to eliminate secondary deburring/chamfering operations.

The ACT Nine9 TiN coated P35 grade inserts are capable of cutting speeds from 60 to 350 m/min and feedrates ranging from 0.03 to 0.1 mm/rev on hardened, stainless, carbon, alloy and high alloy steels through to copper, bronze, aluminium and aluminium alloys. The robust, rigid, 4 mm-thick corner rounding series inserts are available in 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 mm radius. Precision grinding not only supports machining accuracy but also ensures repeatability by means of the high precision location in the insert seat when inserts are changed. The end-user can deploy a choice of radius inserts in a single ACT Nine9 rounding cutter toolholder with consequential inventory and cost economies. The high quality tool steel corner rounding series toolholders are available with a 16 or 25 mm shank diameter for small or large machine tools and their respective applications, and they are available with either one or four insert pockets. Toolholders come in 100, 120 and 150 mm lengths with R10, R15, R20, R25 and R30 cutting head options.
